As the days continue to get longer and the sun warms the air, many of you who play in and enjoy the Annual First Church Golf Outing are already dreaming of green fairways, long drives and those nasty three-foot, down hill breaking putts that just don't seem to go in the hole. Our 9th Annual Golf Tournament to raise money for the historic preservation of our Milford landmark will be better than ever. This year some of the projects include a new roof at the Plymouth Building, the Choir Room floor replacement, and major yard work at Winthrop court. This year's tournament will be held on Monday, August 18th at Orange Hills Country Club, 389 Racebrook Road, Orange and will begin at 7:15 am with a Continental Breakfast. The festivities will end with a Post Tournament Barbecue from 2:30 pm to 7:00 pm at Milford Yacht Club, 131 Trumbull Avenue, Milford. The entry fee is $175.00 per person for golfers and $50.00 per person for Barbeque only. All players receive a sleeve of balls and tees. Team prizes will be awarded as well as prizes for Closest to the Pin and Longest Drive (male and female). There are also sponsorship opportunities available: Hole and Tee Sponsors at $175 each, Meal Sponsors at $500 each, and Prize/Raffle donations.

LENTEN GROUP Remembering Your Story Creating your own spiritual autobiography 8pm, Thursdays in Lent, beginning Feb. 7th LIBRARY
First response: “Eek! But I can’t write!” Ah, but you do have a story! The writing will be secondary to the fun, conversation and growing that happens. You’ll kick yourself if you miss this opportunity to explore those times, places and people who make you who you are. You’re old enough for this group, if your bedtime is past 9pm. Join us.
Co-leaders: Lara Edmondson and Ashley Grant For more information or to sign up, email Ashley at mfducc.cemin@gmail.com _____________________ Lenten Reading GroupKeeping Faith by Jodi PicoultWould you like to join together with other members and friends of the Church in a book discussion? During the first week in Lent, we ask you to purchase or borrow the novel “Keeping Faith,” by Jodi Picoult. Read the book, take your time, jot down questions, stretch your imagination, think about some of the issues about faith raised by the author and then we will gather for two meetings, a week apart toward the end of Lent. The novel is neatly divided into two sections aptly entitled “Old Testament” and “New Testament” which lends itself to two meetings. The discussions will be led by Alison Gottsegen and Rev Jim and they will take place on Thursday evenings, March 6th and March 13th. If you plan to join the discussion and conversation, please speak to Rev. Jim or Alison or call the Church Office and let us know so we can plan for the discussion groups.
The Pumpkin Patch October 13-30 11:00 am to 7:00 pm Daily
The Senior High Pilgrim Fellowship youth group sold pumpkins in the field behind the Plymouth Building at 16 West Main Street. The sale of these pumpkins will help to support the Senior High Mission Trip to New Orleans where our young people and their advisors will dedicate a week in June of 2008 to reconstruction in the area devastated by hurricane Katrina. We want to thank all who bought pumpkins and all who worked in the patch.
