Phyllis Mullins - Retired

Phyllis' Celebration Reception

Office Administrator - Phyllis Mullins has over 20 years experience working as an Administrative Assistant/Office Administrator in local churches. She is currently on the Board of the Network of Executive Women and a member of the Milford Chamber of Commerce.

Phyllis has lived in Milford all her life.  She graduated from Milford High School and married her husband Jack here in First Church 38 years ago.  They have two grown sons.

On June 26, 2016, First Church honored Phyllis' years of service during our worship time.  These words were offered during the service:

"Our faith community changes constantly—people come and go, relationships develop and evolve, time moves forward. It is important that we acknowledge those changes, passages, beginnings and endings, especially when it involves ministry. Today we share this time of farewell with a friend who is retiring, Phyllis Mullins, who has served as our Office Administrator for almost six years."

Jeff Edmondson, Trustee Co-chair, said, "In the fall of 2010, this church hired Phyllis Mullins as our Office Administrator. Phyllis had previously worked for over 14 years at St. Peter's Episcopal Church down the street and was more than up to the task of running the office here.  Since then she has been a consistent presence during the week, balancing her many responsibilities, especially through the many busy times of the year."

Dick Furrana and Michele Steinlauf also shared about Phyllis' character and the immensity of work and care Phyllis has offered to the church through the Office Administration.

Sue Bernor, Church Moderator, performed the decommission and release ceremony.  Rev. Ashley Grant led the gift giving, and Jamie Rude, Chair of the Diaconate, offered the prayer for honoring the occasion and blessing Phyllis in this new chapter of her "retired" life.

God bless you, Phyllis!  We love you.
