For Children

Hike at Mondo Pond October 2012

Every Sunday at the 10:00 am worship, adults and children gather in the Meetinghouse sanctuary to begin worship together.  Children are invited to go to their Sunday School classes after a Children's Message or other liturgical break. Even though our primary goal is to teach our children the story of God's love for us, we also want them to feel that they are an important part of our worshipping Church community.  We are glad that our curriculum will help integrate our worship experience and our Sunday School experience.  And we know that our theme, "God is Still Speaking," will remind us that God has a lot more to say in this place and time and among our gathered community!

Sunday School

At the heart of our Christian Education program is our Sunday School.  From September through May, classes meet weekly during the 10:00 am worship hour, with the exceptions on All Ages Worship Sundays on the Sunday after Christmas and on/after Easter.  We occasionally offer programs or Children's Worship during the regularly scheduled Sunday School time.

Classes are offered for children age 3 through the Seventh Grade. We offer nursery care for younger children. Our Sunday School classes are taught by a dedicated and faith group of volunteers, who are still listening for God's voice to enrich their own faith. Our 2nd Graders receive a Bible, as a gift from First Church; they learn how to use the Bible and listen for God's voice through its amazing faith stories.  Our 7th Graders, who are entering the Confirmation Program, also receiving a Bible to help them along on their journey.

Through story, drama, activities, art, music and more, the good news of the Bible will come alive for us in Sunday School.  We might grow to see ourselves and our stories in the epic of God's love and call.

SPRING PROJECT:  100% Chance of Rain

We have a great adventure in store for our Sunday Schoolers this April & May!  After Easter, we will begin work on a project called “100% Chance of Rain” by Walter S. Horsley.  All of our children can find their niche in this project, and we are going to do our best to help them!  On May 19, we will offer this as our message for Sunday School Celebration Worship.
