Confirmation
The Confirmation Ministry is an experience for young people (usually in 8th and 9th grades) to confirm their faith and prepare themselves for adult Church membership and Christian discipleship. The Pastors, Deacons and Christian Education ministries of First Church all cooperate in providing a thorough and hands-on confirmation process for the church's young adults.
Confirmation I, led by Minister of Christian Education Rev. Ashley Grant, reviews the stories of the Old Testament and cultivates an appreciation of Christian worship.
In Confirmation II, Associate Pastor Rev. Adam Eckhart and mentors lead sessions and faith practice events where teenagers discover that Christian discipleship encompasses belief in and practice of God's grace and love.

On Confirmation Sunday (typically the first Sunday in May), young adults who have completed the Confirmation II year (which includes a project and conversation with deacons) and who feel called to Christian discipleship can confirm their baptism through the moving rite of the laying on of hands.
