Come join the Music Ministry at First Church!

Come join the Music Ministry at the First United Church of Christ, Congregational in Milford and be part of a diverse musical community that includes six dynamic ensembles, a vibrant concert series and many opportunities for you to praise God through music.

Our mission is: "At First United Church of Christ (Congregational) of Milford, we strive to create and sustain a music ministry that provides its diverse congregation and the wider community with a variety of opportunities to praise and serve God through participation in and appreciation of great music."

Our Adult Choir gives glory to God with traditional/classical music during Sunday worship services. Our Meetinghouse Ringers explore music through the world of handbell music. Our Pilgrim Chorale explores the contemporary music experience both in and out of worship. Our Youth and Junior Choirs allow our youngest musicians to explore the joy of music through song, playing instruments and creating their own music. Finally, if you crave the experience of singing large-scale music in a large choral ensemble often with an orchestra, the Meetinghouse Chorale is the place for you.The Chorale is a long-standing tradition of First Church, engaging a diverse group of musicians made up of First Church members, and members of the community, who come together to perform large concert rep, such as Handel's Messiah.

The Meetinghouse Chorale will present a concert of American music on March 22, 2020 which will close our wonderful 2019-2020 Annual Concert Series! Be sure to check out our Silent Movie (Nosferatu) on October 12th, and a variety concert tribute to Broadway on February 8th.  And don't miss our Annual Candlelight Carol Service on Dec. 15th, which, while not a concert, represents an afternoon of beautiful music, just in time for Christmas!

Whether you are a child or a child at heart, First Church has a music ensemble for you! No audition required, just contact Daniel Brownell, Minister of Music (musicminister@firstchurchofmilford.org), and/or check out the website pages for the rehearsal schedule.
