Beth El Shelter Meal

Oct. 29, 2016-- Volunteers from First Church  prepared a meal for Beth El Shelter.  On the fifth Saturday of a month, this group of devoted and gracious volunteers gather to prepare and serve those who need a meal.  First Church is grateful for their ministry. [ more ]

Presence & Purpose At the Heart of the Holiday Season

Friday, November 4, 7-8:30pm: Laura Jarvis, facilitator from Pure Possibilities, will lead a workshop for our "First Friday Event" in Fellowship Hall. Candlelight Vigil of Remembrance and Peace

Monday, June 13, 2016 - In the wake of the tragedy in Orlando, the First United Church of Christ hosted a Candlelight Prayer Vigil of Remembrance and Peace. We began by honoring our Muslim brothers and sisters as they broke their Ramadan Fast at sunset in our Sanctuary. The vigil then moved to the front steps and lawn of our Church with a moving candlelight service. [ more ]

A Trip to The Hotspot Glass Studio

May 12--Fourteen creative women from First Church traveled to The Hotspot Glass Studio in Fairfield for a mesmerizing and hot experience in glassblowing.  We created glasses, paper weights, ornaments and flowers from colored glass.  [ more ]

Confirmation 2016

May 1, 2016--Congratulations to our Confirmands!  12 young ladies and men re-affirmed their baptismal vows and were confirmed as members of First Church on Sunday. [ more ]

Community Builder Awards

April 29, 2016--Thomas Isaac receives a Star of Milford Award for Meeting Critical Needs because of his service through the Emma Davis Medical Equipment Ministry and work with the American Cancer Society.  Rick George received the Community Builder Lifetime Achievement Award from The United Way for years of sevice and compassionate attention to special ones in our community.  Congratulations to these and all of the recipients! Easter 2016 News

On March 27--We shared in a Glorious Easter at First Church! The cranes took flight among us. The brass welcomed us into a spirit of Resurrection Worship. The chiors filled the sanctuary with light and song that surely made God smile. The confirmation class shared the folktake of The Three Trees. Rev. Adam lifted "up in the air" the story of Easter.
