Dear Friends,

I want to welcome you to our Church Website, and I hope that you find the information, descriptions and pictures helpful in understanding our church, its mission, its structure, its worship and activities.

First Church in Milford is one of the oldest churches in the country. Founded in 1639, just a couple decades after the Pilgrims established their colony in Plymouth, it has occupied the same place in the center of town for over 350 years. Throughout centuries of change, generations of faithful people have supported and maintained its missions and programs.

Our congregation consists of an enthusiastic and energetic multigenerational community of faith rooted in an atmosphere that is a unique combination of spirit, warmth, tradition and respect for diversity and individuality. If you look around the Meetinghouse on a Sunday morning, you will notice a caring congregation in action as individuals--young and old--worship, sing and share information about what is going on in their lives and in the life of our community.

One of the best ways to learn about our church is to visit us. We invite you to join us at any of our regular or special worship services throughout the year. In our worship, we sing and pray together, we read and listen to God's word in the scriptures, and hear God's word for our day in the sermons of our pastors. In our time of worship together, we share our joys and concerns, and offer our prayers for friends and loved ones who are facing difficult times. We care about our church and work hard to make it a vehicle of God's grace in our personal lives, in our community and in the world.
