The Gospel of Ernest (part 3)

Lenten Reading for Monday,  February 25, 2013:

These sayings are from "A Journey with God" by Rev. Ernest Bodenweber, retired UCC Minister and former pastor in West Haven, CT.

292      Dare we ask if there could be misdirection, confusion, or selfish motivation in trying to get what we want?

303      In large measure life becomes what we believe it to be.

324      Joy gets inside us when we get outside of ourselves.

334      In other words, not necessarily those who accept a certain theological definition of Jesus, but those truly devoted to him and striving to follow him are the ones who really know God in him.

339      The most meaningful aspect of God's providence is her presence.

343      God often does her good work through humor.

351      On the other hand, would life be less is we knew all the answers, if we knew the whys and wherefores of all things, if all mystery were removed?

354      Wonder is the emotion evoked by the mystery of God.

365      May God bless you in the twists and turns of your own journey, blessing you with broader vistas of truth and deeper discernment of life's meaning.
