Mission Statement

At the First Church food pantry, we are dedicated to nourishing our neighbors with dignity and compassion by providing shelf-stable food to those facing food insecurity. As a volunteer-run pantry, we understand that true nourishment feeds both body and soul. While we offer non-perishable essentials and basic toiletries, we also strive to create a welcoming space filled with kindness, respect, and hope—where every visit to our window is a reminder that no one is alone.

We recognize that every story is unique, and when the need is genuine, we make space for thoughtful exceptions…always guided by empathy, not just policy.

“Feeding more than hunger.”

How to Find Us

Our food pantry window is located on the side of the church at 34 West Main Street, Milford CT.  We are open every Tuesday from 10:00AM – 2:00PM for Milford and surrounding communities.  Each household in need may visit once a month on any Tuesday.

How to Help

Donate! Our donation-run ministry is always in need of your support. Food donations can be dropped off at the pantry window any Tuesday from 10:00AM to 2:00PM or brought directly to the church on Sundays. Financial donations may be made on the church website “Giving” page https://firstchurchofmilford.org/giving/ or placed directly in the offering plate on Sundays (please be sure to indicate your donation is for the “Food Pantry”).

Items we seem to always need: Canned tuna or chicken, peanut butter and jelly, pasta and sauce, mac and cheese, canned vegetables and fruits, canned tomatoes, rice, potato flakes, canned protein and baked beans, boxed cereal and instant oatmeal, canned soups, canned pasta meals (Chef Boyardee), canned chili/beef stew, shelf stable milk, coffee and tea, individually wrapped snacks and granola bars, ketchup, mustard, mayo.

* Smaller sized items are easier for our clients to manage. Please check expiration dates on donated food.*

Organize a food drive in your workplace or neighborhood!  Contact the church office at (203) 877-4277 to be connected with our ministry volunteers who can guide you.

How to Get Involved

The ministry depends on volunteers who share in shopping, sorting, inventorying, and client service. Volunteers track inventory, pack food bags, and ensure that people receive the help they need with care and dignity. If you are interested in joining this team of compassionate volunteers, please call the church office at 203-877-4277 or speak with Ann Sabo for more information.
