As in Advent seasons past, the Christian Outreach Ministry invites you to make donations to charities through the church's Time to Share Offering. Instead of buying gifts for a friend or relative (who may seem to have all they need), you may feel God's call to give a gift in the person's name. You also may feel called to give in memory of a loved one. Beth El Center is the primary outreach organization of the churches of Milford for the care of the hungry and the homeless in Milford, and it is an important part of our Church's mission in the community.  As one of the founding churches of Beth El, and currently a sponsoring faith community, we support Beth-El Center's mission is "to extend dignity and respect to all individuals and families while connecting them to housing, food and services within their communities." The Emma Davis Medical Equipment Ministry is a medical equipment clearinghouse that has offered compassionate service in the region for several decades. Emma Davis was a member of the Church who spent a lifetime reaching out to the needy in Milford.  When Emma died in 1968, the Deacons were led by the Holy Spirit to continue part of her ministry.  Ever since, members of First Church have been gathering used medical equipment, wheelchairs, walkers, etc., repairing the equipment and ... Fall 2021- Milford Food 2 Kids is making a real impact in our town.

Yes, Milford has kids who are food insecure. School isn't just a place for learning for some of our students, it is also their reliable source of food.

The sad truth is that from Friday afternoon until they return to school on Monday morning some of these children may not know if, or how much, they will get to eat at home.  Map The Meal Gap study shows Connecticut's overall child food insecurity rate is almost 12%, or 131,000 children state wide. In February 2016, we launched a new program serving local school children--Milford Food 2 Kids. Each week of the school year, since our start, we have gathered to pack and deliver bags of food to our schools. We strive to feed those kids who are food insecure until all are fed... Pastoral Counseling is the professional therapeutic discipline which helps people to apply the hope and wisdom of Biblical Faith to the difficult and painful problems of depression, anxiety, abuse, marital/ adolescent/family conflicts, and recovery from alcohol and substance abuse.
